Description Jen 2023-11-13 19:17:16 UTC
Description:
I just updated my LibreOffice Writer to 7.6.2 after being prompted to do so on 11/12/2023 and now when I type my document, it doesn't show me when I have a misspelled word. When I use the spell check manually, it tells me that all words are spelled correctly even after purposefully misspelling a word. How can I correct this without reverting to a prior version of the program or is that my only option until the next update?

Steps to Reproduce:
1.update to 7.6.2
2. write nonsense word
3.use spell check

Actual Results:
Spell check on my LibreOffice 7.6.2 used on my 64-bit operation system Windows 10 Home edition laptop computer hasn't worked since updating to the newest version of the program.

Expected Results:
I expect spell check to be able to pick up on misspelled words (meaning that when I type out something like "akdefxz" there should be a red line under it to indicate a misspelled word. Either that or when I click on spell check manually, it should pick up on it right away.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
Instead of picking up on misspelled words, it does absolutely nothing to correct these issues. It forces me to copy and paste everything to a new document in a different word processor program and do my spell check there, then recopy and paste everything back once again which is tedious work and completely unnecessary

REPRODUCIBLE* (kind of)

Steps:

1. Opened LO writer

2. Typed words that were misspelled

Results:

I deleted and re downloaded the current version of LO. Doing this seemed to reset some of the spell check options for me. The words that were misspelled were not underlined in red and did not show up with the F7 manually spell check. Going into spell check options I checked off every box and that seemed to fix it for me. I'm pretty sure I checked off something I shouldn't have but looking into those options and selectively picking what is needed is a good start.
