Just installed your latest Libre Office. Trying to open a .docx file in Writer, I get this message from Windows 10: "The lock file could not be created for exclusive access by LibreOffice, due to missing permission to create a lock file on that file location or lack of free disk space. Select Notify to open read-only and get notified when the document becomes editable." Also I get a notice from Windows: "App or process blocked: soffice.bin Protected folder: %userprofile%\Documents I am running a 64 bit processor, in guest mode, not administrator mode, Windows 10, and no problem with hard disk space. I did not have this problem with previous versions of Writer. How do I fix this?

Created attachment 190969 [details] Blue EYes Crying in the Rain Lyrics I think I attached file "Blue eyes crying in the rain.docx" for you to test against this bug I have with Writer, but any .docx file I try to open gets the same results.
[Automated Action] NeedInfo-To-Unconfirmed
Any .docx file will not load in Writer. The file provided for test is only one of many I tried.
Do you use an antivirus like AVG or Avast? This might be related to it thinking LO is malicious. See bug 157497. Please see if ddeactivating solves the issue. If that's the case, please consider reporting a false positive to the company.
I am using MS Defender. When I turn it off Writer works, but I don't want to run with Defender off. Should I report this to Microsoft?
(In reply to Robert Davis from comment #6) > I am using MS Defender. When I turn it off Writer works, but I don't want to > run with Defender off. Should I report this to Microsoft? Yes, thank you.
Actually followed the Win-10 suggestion and went to 'Blocked folder access' and allowed soffice.bin . Now Libre 7.6 works fine.
