Description Alexander Berg 2023-11-24 08:24:56 UTC
Description:
I write posts for my blog. I use this special character “–” when I enter “Alt+0150”. In the current version "7.3.6.2", however, Alt+1 opens the properties window, although this is not defined as a keyboard shortcut.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start Writer
2. Try Alt+0150

Actual Results:
It appears the properties window.

Expected Results:
"–"

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
I reinstalled the version 7.6.2.1

That is the Unicode EN DASH - U+2013

When needed you can pick from the Special Character dialog, or from the Keyboard type "U+2013" and with edit cursor positioned at end of that string--<Alt>+x keyboard entry will toggle to "–".

Unicode toggle works in all LibreOffice UI elements, across all os/DE combinations.

As noted in bug 158112 slight regression for Windows WDM users with the predefined shortcuts for the Sidebar deck now conflicting with legacy/deprecated numpad AltCode usage (pre-dating Unicode).

I simply installed the previous version where it works.

OK. I tried to type something into the keyboard. There is no dash. I even looked at Microsoft to enter some Unicode. At the end the number is in the document and the extras menu is opened.

I also tested "Strg+F5". This opens the attribute window. I tested "Alt+1" and it opens the attribute window, too. "Alt+x" opens the extras-menu.

Citate: When needed you can pick from the Special Character dialog, or from the Keyboard type "U+2013" and with edit cursor positioned at end of that string--<Alt>+x keyboard entry will toggle to "–".

That's wrong.

It works like this: First type in the number, f.e. "2013" then mark the number, then press "alt+c" an then "–" appears.

Sorry, for some locales it is <Alt>+C rather than <Alt>+X but same control.

Implemented since 5.1 as for bug 73691, fundamental issue with the <Alt>+numpad entries remains bug 158112 which this is a duplicate of.

Simply enter the corresponding numerical code for the special character, select it and press "Alt+c". That's it.
