Could you elaborate about the specific settings you use for

Settings > View > Appearance > Mode:
Settings > Application Colors > Custom Colors > Scheme:

The current settings for UI are a mess. It should be dark, light, system and maybe custom. Currently there are even different locations that make for an inconsistent unintended look.

I totally agree with Steve, this has been a discussion in the design meeting previously. It makes sense that anything related to dark mode be in one dialog. Perhaps we can gather the requirements together and come up with a proposal?

(In reply to steve from comment #2)
Settings > View > Appearance > Mode: Dark
Settings > Application Colors > Custom Colors > Scheme: Untouched (default)
OS-mode > Control Center > click Display > Dark Mode.

Reproduced in:

When changing the LO appearance mode from System to Light, the font colour doesn't update (bug 156855). I need to restart to be able to read the font, but as described here: icons are still Sukapura dark.

The issue only arrises the first time the start centre is opened.

More detailed steps:
1. OS to Dark, LO to Light
2. Quit LO
3. Open LO: Start Center uses Sukapura dark (not OK)
4. Open document, close LO window (but don't quit!), open Start Center: Sukapura light used. (OK)
5. Quit LO, open LO: Sukapura dark used again in Start Center (not OK)

Same thing the other way round:
1. OS to Light, LO to Dark
2. Quit LO
3. Open LO: Start Center uses Sukapura light (not OK)
4. Open document, close LO (but don't quit!), open Start Center: Sukapura dark used. (OK)
5. Quit LO, open LO: Sukapura light used again in Start Center (not OK)
