Created attachment 191346 [details] Writer file contains an audio object Saving the attached file in Word 2007 or Word 2010 format, the pb will be easily observed.
Open the odt file with Word, the media file is also missing. I think it is not possible to insert audio files in Word.
Gooling "How to insert multimedia objects" in a MS Word doc?", you´ll see many links that indicate it is actually possible to include any kind of multimedia objects, not only audios, videos as well.
Created attachment 191355 [details] Screenshot with the navigator What I see is that it is possible to insert in Word as OLE object, but the embed file in your sample file is a Draw object, not an OLE object. Inserting an OLE object in Writer, it is there by opening the file in Word. On the other side, saving as docx, doesn't save those Draw objects.
As I don´t have a MS Word processor at hand, I'm not able to testing its capacity to handle embedded audio objects. What I see in the Bugzilla interface is that under the label "Attachments", it is clearly mentioned that the "Writer file contains an audio objet (4.54 MB, application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.text)". Anyway, it's not so big deal, there is the possibility to export the file in PDF format which supports embedded multimedia objects. Thank you for your attention and support.
