Description Jim 2023-12-27 13:56:53 UTC
Description:
Hi LibreOffice crew,
I discovered a bug in LibreOffice today.
I am writing several documents that require hyperlinks to bookmarks throughout the documents. No internet links are required.
While the hyperlinks do work in LibreOffice when using the usual Ctrl + click on my desktop pc running Windows 10, and on my new surface pro 9 that does not suite my purpose.
I need to turn off the requirement for the Ctrl key to be pressed and I can do that in Windows 10 on the desktop and the hyperlinks work with one click, but I have been unable to do so on the Surface Pro9 in Windows 11.
When I will be using the documents, I will need to be able to click on links by only using the touch screen of the laptop only, because I won’t have a keyboard connected most of the time.
In MS Word, this can be done easily as follows: File/Options/Advanced, then uncheck a box.
In Windows 10, I was able to disable the Ctrl key by using “Tools/Customize/Keyboard/ but even when that condition is blank in Windows 11, it still requires the Ctrl key to be pressed.
I understand that this is a very unusual request as most situations would call for the use of the Ctrl key within documents for security reasons. In my case that will not be a problem as the Surface pro will be used offline.
I apologize for such a long-winded explanation, but I wanted you to know not only what my problem is, but how it occurs.
I really hope you can help me with this because I have run out of options. I have looked at many other document programs and even considered setting up a dual boot on the Surface pro to install Linux under which LibreOffice hopefully would work, or (God help me – ChromeOS which I dislike immensely.)
If you have got this far, I thank you for your time, even if you are unable to assist me with this problem.
Kind Regards,
Dave

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create 2 documents and a couple of bookmarks and hyperlinks in each.
2.Try to operate the hyperlinks without pressing the CTRL key.
3.

Actual Results:
If you do as I described above, you will get the usual "press the ctrl key+ click"
message if you try to do it without pressing the ctrl key.

Expected Results:
Nothing. The cursor remains at the hyperlink.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
If you can find a way to disable the ctrl key while running under LibreOffice under window 11, a single click on the hyperlink will send the cursor to the assigned bookmark. That is it in a nutshell.
If you can do that, I will be most grateful!

YMMV but set 'HyperlinksWithCtrlClick' to FALSE from Expert Configuration dialog (click the Edit button to toggle the BOOLEAN).
