Description: Text language context menu from status bar is not really self-explaining Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Writer (empty document) 2. Right/Left click on Document language shown at the bottom (screenshot 3. There is 'quick list' listing number of languages + more... category. 4. The More.. button which opens the Character Dialog (same as Format -> Character) 5. Select some different language from the 'quick list' It will set Paragraph Direct Format -> Char Locale 6. There is also a "Set Language for Paragraph". The submenu will list a number of languages + more 7. Click the more button from the submenu. Character Dialog opens (seems the same as Format -> Character) Actual Results: 1) The dialogs, pointing to the same dialog is terrible confusing: what is the difference? How do those relate to each other. I can't make any sense of it 2) I miss the ability to change the Paragraph Default Style language in the status bar (that's what I'm often inclined to do; I want to change the Paragraph Default Style because I'm writing a document in English. I'm actually messing with Char Locales. Expected Results: More self-explaining workflow Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Version: 24.2.0.0.alpha1+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: a9ad36ae46ff76c0d59b0d170314fdd3a9ee5d35 CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 6.3 Build 9600; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: nl-NL (nl_NL); UI: en-US Calc: CL threaded

(In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #2) > This has for sure duplicates. Please check bug 136463, bug 103036, bug > 138170, and the META tickets. You're right. I should use search more often :-) It's reported left and right: closed as NAB/WF bug 81797 or bug 96988. Today it's dumped into bug 103036 which feels like a container bug The bug title containing very broad scope: 'rework document language Setting'. Whereas the bug 103036 comment 0 being about something very specific stuff. The duplicates go in all sort of directions (sub)issues. Bug 103036 comment 6 mentions the status bar. I would personally prefer a nice clean bug summarizing the issues and some UI/ workflow proposal. Maybe even separated it into subtopics bundled by a metabug. Instead of all aspects being squeezed into a single bug report. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 103036 ***
