Description: I have an XLSX file containing client data, where each client has their own sheet. There is also a summary sheet that compiles all inputs made (e.g., male/female, country of origin, etc.). When I open the file in Excel 2016, the summary sheet counts and displays the data correctly without any errors. However, when I open the same file with the latest version of LibreOffice Calc (Windows and Linux) AND strangely the latest version of Microsoft Excel, I encounter an error in the summary sheet. If it helps I also can submit the file. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open the specific xlsx file in LibreOffice Calc. 2. Navigate to the summary sheet. 3. Check the values/cells that are supposed to count data from other sheets. Actual Results: An error message "Error:504" is displayed when viewing the summary sheet in LibreOffice Calc. Expected Results: The summary sheet should correctly count and display data from other sheets without any errors, similar to how it works in Excel 2016. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Version: 7.6.4.1 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: e19e193f88cd6c0525a17fb7a176ed8e6a3e2aa1 CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 6.1; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); UI: de-DE Flatpak Calc: threaded
I can provide the file, but would only like to transmit it unpublicly.

That also the latest Excel version complains rather suggests an error in the formula syntax that for whatever reason was silently accepted by earlier versions. Fwiw, Err:504 is "Error in parameter list". Can you provide the formula expression where the error occurs first, along with its arguments passed? You can trace errors using Tools -> Detective -> Trace Error on a cell with error. Then on the originating cell use the Function Wizard to inspect what arguments are passed.
unfortunately I cannot select the cell, because it is protected

Thank you for the report. Unfortunately, without the formula, and without a sample file that lets us see the formula, there is no way we can figure out what the issue is. Plus, having the same problem in both LO and MSO does make it seem like the issue is not on LO's side. Closing as "insufficient data" but please set back to "unconfirmed if you can provide more information.
