LO stop responding 24.2

LO have, since version 7.6 and now 24.2, had a tendency to 'stop responding' when closing window or clicking randomly on any thing else such as File, Tools Help or whatever it is. The issue happens all from Start Center, Writer, Calc, Impress, Draw, etc. It happens everytime it is in use. The issue doesn't occur at all if I use version 7.5.

Please test in safe mode, Menu/Help/Restart in Safe Mode

Ok, did the safe mode and just did it 1 time and it crashed right away
(a.k.a. 'has stopped responding' as usual).

The image looks like you're clicking on Close [X] while waiting for LibreOffice to respond.

Please paste here the information on Menu/Help/About LibreOffice (There is an icon to copy)

In this case it did from the picture, but the crashing can occur by so much by closing/opening Writer/Calc/Impress/Draw/Math/Base-window, opening a file, clicking on Help (for example), opening Writer/Clac (for example), etc.

Tools -> Options -> View -> Check Force Skia Software Rendering and restart

Does this make any difference?

If Telesto's tip works, you can also try https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/FirstSteps#Graphics-related_issues_(_Skia_)
Comment 8 Klexus 2024-02-05 08:35:01 UTC
Ends up with the same problem with Skia Off and/or On.

Skia log:
RenderMethod: raster
Compiler: Clang

Thank you for the feedback, I don't have more questions for the moment so put back to UNCONFIRMED.
Comment 10 Klexus 2024-02-06 21:08:54 UTC
I have been annoyed by this bizarre issue and find it strange that no one else have this problem as it also happens exactly the same to my secondary desktop computer which is a AMD Phenom, DDR2 with Windows 10 Home x64. I can't use either 7.6.4 or 24.2, but no problem with 7.5.9. I do experince that it works good on some computers and not good on others.

Would like to provide a video of this (if it's allowed):

Would it be possible you retrieve a backtrace? (see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugReport/Debug_Information#Windows:_How_to_get_a_backtrace)

Information in a bt may provide hints about root cause.
Comment 12 Telesto 2024-02-06 22:32:13 UTC
bug 159604 describes the same issue, IMHO. Both have the same locale and UI language (Locale: nb-NO (nb_NO); UI: nb-NO): coincidence?
Comment 13 Klexus 2024-02-07 07:32:32 UTC
Julien: I'm not sure if I can handle that scheme. I'm not that technical. Just a regular intermediate user.

Telesto: For me it seems very identical. He also use(d) v7.6.4.1 and it's the same problem with me.

Maybe this might be a SEE ALSO:

"LibreOffice 7.6 stalls/crashes under Windows 11 with Norwegian (Bokmål) locale when opening file dialog"

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=157135

The second I saw "nb-NO", that made me think of that one.

"Affected users are encouraged to test the fix and report feedback."

Well, have tried 24.2.2.1 for about 5-8 minutes by clicking randomly on different functions and stuff and it seems to be running better than ever since the first version of 7.6 was released.
