Machine translation of comment 0:

----

"Although the online update option is/was set to "unavailable" during installation.
This was already the case with version 24.2.0, but not with all previous versions with the old naming scheme LibreOffice_7.6.4

What is expected:

The service will not be installed if the Online Update option is set to "unavailable" during installation.

Or that, as with Firefox, the option is offered during installation to deselect the installation of the service."

----

I'm not sure I understand the issue, but could be the bad machine translation. Could you please try and explain it in English?

At the moment, the alternative MAR-based update functionality (see "In experimental mode, made the MAR-based automatic update available..." at <https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/24.2#Core_/_General>) is installed unconditionally on Windows, regardless of whether on the MSI-based installation wizzard's "Custom Setup" page "Optional Components - Online Update" (which controls LO's traditional, "notification-based" update mechanism) is en- or disabled. And installation of the LibreOfficeMaintenance service is an integral part of installing LO's MAR-based update functionality, so it effectively gets always installed currently.

A feature request would be to cover the MAR-based update functionality by that installation wizzard's "Custom Setup" page's "Optional Components - Online Update" setting. (So that all of that MAR-based update functionality, including the LibreOfficeMaintenance service, would only be installed if that setting is enabled.) => Accepting this issue with an accordingly updated title.
