Description Yogurt 2024-03-10 09:19:44 UTC
Description:
On Windows, one can enter characters using Alt+NumPad sequences, like Alt+0150 for an n-dash. For a long time it worked fine in LibreOffice.

The current versions, however, capture one the key presses in the middle of the sequence and LibreOffice (Writer, Calc, etc.) opens the sidebar instead of entering the special character.

Please don't assign Alt+5 ... Alt+8 to keyboard shortcuts by default (easy way), or please check it's being pressed as a part of a sequence (hard way).

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start typing in one of the applications.
2. Press Alt.
3. Type 0150 on the numeric keypad.
4. Release Alt.

Actual Results:
Sidebar opens.

Expected Results:
An n-dash is entered in the current text field.

Reproducible: Always
