Description J Johnson 2024-03-12 13:45:30 UTC
Description:
Having used OpenOffice for years, when creating Pivot Tables, there was a button that looked like a double arrow << which allowed you to move all of the Available Fields in the order they exist from the data source into the Row Fields.

Currently, when you fill up the Row Fields with the drag and drop feature, it gets problematic when the Row Field area gets full with fields and populates a side bar. In order to put the fields at the very bottom becomes very tricky because only a small sliver allows for the field to be dropped there.

So adding a Move All Columns button would make this a lot more convenient and address the drag/drop issue for many entries.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add a pivot table from a data source with 10+ fields.
2. Get to the Pivot Table Layout screen.
3. Move the Available Fields to Row Fields with the drag/drop system to see the frustration that ensues.

Actual Results:
Difficulty of use.

Expected Results:
Easier use.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Add a button to move all Available Fields to Row Fields. Then the user can continue editing the fields with the drag and drop system.

Thanks for the suggestion.
Allowing dragging several items at once is already suggested in bug 149931, and I understand it would solve your issue as well (select all, drag and drop).
