errors on OS shutdown

This bug was filed from the crash reporting server and is br-480be6de-02ba-407a-ad0a-b3fea1b55292.
=========================================

since upgrading to LO version LO 7.6.4.1 I have anomalies on exiting the program.
I was hoping upgrading to 7.6.5.2 would help but it did not.
I have un-installed LO and performed a clean install
1. the program appears to shutdown OK but if I reopen it the program crashes ( giving this crash report)
2. if I then proceed to exit the OS, I get an error message that there are 2 programs still running.(attached)
If I terminate these the shutdown proceeds OK and on subsequent OS sessions i am able to open LO ok..

Could you try https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/FirstSteps ?
Comment 2 Stéphane Guillou (stragu) 2024-03-15 12:56:47 UTC
- Is this actually about the database module?
- Are you using the flatpak version?
- Which distribution and desktop environment are you using?
Can you please:
- provide more precise steps to reproduce the issue
- paste here the version info from Help > About LibreOffice

Thank you!

I noticed /opt in the screenshot, which Linux distrib do you use and how did you install LO (from TDF packages or from distrib repository)?

I mean, Linux packages in https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download-libreoffice/ are more for package maintainers who must have to deal with packages dependencies.

Ok uninstall completely LibreOffice and use repository from your Linux distrib then to reinstall it then.
Comment 12 graham jones 2024-03-17 08:53:07 UTC
linux distribution is LMDE 6 Faye base: Debian 12.1 bookworm (see system info attachment)

LO install
https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download-libreoffice/
downloaded
LibreOffice_7.6.5.2_Linux_x86-64_deb_helppack_en-US
LibreOffice_7.6.5.2_Linux_x86-64_deb
 I open terminal
 navigate to the DEBS folder
issue sudo dpkg -i *.deb - as per the README (attached)

Ok I'm on Debian testing updated today which contains LO Debian package 24.2.0.3
This kind of installation is more for maintainers as I said since you must deal with dependencies pb.

So you should uninstall LO and either stick to LMDE LO out-of-the-box packages or figure out some way to find more up-to-date LMDE repositories.
Since LMDE is based Debian stable, I suppose you may add Debian testing repositories on /etc/apt/sources.list
I never tried this since I always used Debian testing but https://serverfault.com/questions/22414/how-can-i-run-debian-stable-but-install-some-packages-from-testing may help.
Comment 14 graham jones 2024-03-17 09:22:17 UTC
i wasn't using LMDE LO out-of-the-box packages because they were always so far out of date.
i uninstalled LO
set up the package manager to offer flatpacks and see the flatpak version there is no current.
installed flatpack LO 24.2.1.2 and have no shutdown problems now
please close this bug
thanks graham
