Description: I have a cell structure like this |some name|12.03.24| |name1 |3 | |name2 |2 | |name3 |1 | When I press 1, it tries to autocomplete 1 as "12.03.24". I confirm date cell is formatted as date and other cells with numbers formatted as number. As a workaround I type 01 then enter. MS Excel wasn't suggesting date on a number cell. I think autocompleting date is needs to be only triggered after i press the dot like "12.", or not autocomplete date on number cells, or disable this at all. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Format A1 as date and format A2, A3, A4 as general number. 2. Enter a date to A1 which is formatted as date 3. Enter a number that starts how date starts. Like, if date is "21.02.24", press 2. Actual Results: Autocompletes to date Expected Results: Autocomplete to number from upper rows / don't autocomplete. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: Version: 7.6.5.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 60(Build:2) CPU threads: 16; OS: Linux 6.7; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US 7.6.5-1 Calc: threaded
Please attach a sample file. Format date with en-US is MM/DD/YYYY not MM.DD.YYYY, so maybe your dates are text not true dates.
Created attachment 193153 [details] the format is DD.MM.YY
Created attachment 193154 [details] type 2 to trigger the autocomplete
Yes, autocomplete is good but it autocompletes date cells which is annoying because under date i need to enter some data and it always changes to date.
Your date is a text date, not a true date, it has a quote preceding the value. '21.02.24 If you change the cell format, you get the same '21.02.24 When a true date, autocomplete doesn't work. https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Faq/Calc/How_to_convert_number_text_to_numeric_data
