Description: I use alt keys for special characters regularly in LibreOffice Writer and just discovered today, much to my chagrin, that the one I use most now doesn't work, but instead now opens some paragraph styles menu on the right instead. PLEASE FIX. Clicking on the menus is not efficient, especially since I use the alt keys two or more times *per line* in each document, each time I use Writer. Thank you for your prompt attention. Lesley Steps to Reproduce: 1. Hold down Alt key. 2. Start typing ASCII character number (in this case 0169). 3. Discover paragraph menu on right rather than intended character to be inserted into document. Actual Results: Already enumerated twice above. Expected Results: Already enumerated twice above. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Just insert the ASCII special character in the document as has previously been the case!
corrected as for bug 158112 with enhanced handling for both types of MS decimal Alt codes OEM and ASCII (supporting full range of Unicode BMP & SMP glyphs). Available in current 24.2.1 release or the future 24.8.0, fix won't be backported to the 7.6 branch so please update. =-ref-= [1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alt_code *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 158112 ***

Make sure to unassign both application-specific Alt+num shortcuts, and LibreOffice common Alt+num shortcuts.
