Description: There is something wrong with the paragraph styles in the below attached .ods file. When "Default paragraph style" is applied, then style changing action from IEEE style to APA 7ed fails to recover this citation ITEM (IEEE [1]) with APA7 style ((Author, YYYY)). Also posted in: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/113182/bug-zotero-libreoffice-integration-cant-change-style-numeric-to-author-date-when-no-char-after-item Steps to Reproduce: 1) In Zotero add-on: Set Document Preferences 2) Change style to APA 7th edition Actual Results: The first citation is not recovered, and the second, and the third are changed properly. IEEE APA 1. [1] --> [1] (failed) 2. [1] --> (Author1, YEAR) 3. [2] --> (Author2, YYYY) Expected Results: All in text citation fields should change to author-date style. IEEE APA 1. [1] --> (Author1, YEAR) 2. [1] --> (Author1, YEAR) 3. [2] --> (Author2, YYYY) Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: SETUP Zotero 6.0.36 Zotero LibreOffice Integration 6.0.4 1st config: Version: 24.2.1.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: db4def46b0453cc22e2d0305797cf981b68ef5ac CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 22631; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: pl-PL (pl_PL); UI: en-US Calc: threaded 2nd config: Version: 24.2.0.3 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: da48488a73ddd66ea24cf16bbc4f7b9c08e9bea1 CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 22631; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: pl-PL (pl_PL); UI: pl-PL Calc: CL threaded 3rd config: Version: 7.6.5.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 38d5f62f85355c192ef5f1dd47c5c0c0c6d6598b CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 22631; UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win Locale: pl-PL (pl_PL); UI: en-US Calc: CL threaded IEEE (2024-01-11 19:39:58) https://www.zotero.org/styles?q=id%3Aieee&dependent=0 https://www.zotero.org/styles/ieee?source=1 American Psychological Association 7th edition (2024-02-13 03:12:55) https://www.zotero.org/styles?q=id%3Aapa&dependent=0 https://www.zotero.org/styles/apa?source=1

Thanks for the report. Reproduced. Citation style updates fine if some characters are added after it, before changing to APA 7th. (Stuart, see comment 3, I reproduced in LO 6.3)
(In reply to Stéphane Guillou (stragu) from comment #5) > (Stuart, see comment 3, I reproduced in LO 6.3) @Stéphane, OK sorry! So your workaround to modify the style tested good back to LO 6.3--but IIRC the 5.4.1 release point is the better LO bench mark (wef our bug 105705) though Zotero project indicates its bundled LibreOffice integration requires LibreOffice 5.2 And, while workaround is OK--why not the Extensions component rather than Writer? Or even => NOB, and something that needs a tweak on the Zotero integration source.
This is a duplicate of https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124842 Note that we indicate that the plugin works with LibreOffice 5.2. I imagine it still does, although we don't really test with versions older than the current LO stable and tell all our users to update to the stable version before troubleshooting, so that page is not prescriptive, merely descriptive.
(In reply to Adomas Venčkauskas from comment #7) > This is a duplicate of > https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124842 Indeed: if in the sample file the Default Paragraph Style is modified to have itself as its "Next style" (instead of Text Body), no issue. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 124842 ***
