Description Bastiaan Quast 2024-04-12 13:48:52 UTC
Description:
Bug, this is what a GIF of a moving red line looks like in presentation mode (2 screens).

It renders correctly in the editor.

This is MacOS Sonoma (14.4.1) on the M3.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. put an animated GIF in a presentation (could need transparent background)
2. open presentation mode
3. move presentation to the slide

Actual Results:
the gif draws over each other

Expected Results:
moving through the frames (without showing the ones in the past)

Reproducible: Always

Not reproduced on Linux:

Version: 24.2.3.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 433d9c2ded56988e8a90e6b2e771ee4e6a5ab2ba
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 6.5; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

Can you please copy and paste here your full version information from LibreOffice > About? There's a button to copy it.

Does changing the Skia settings in "LibreOffice > Preferences > LibreOffice > View" change anything?

Wondering if it has to do with 12fd870113a663dde5ceb38c61f1986a34095d0e like bug 160690.

@Stragu
The red line is ghosting. Not visible in chromium. Visible with skia/raster skia/metal and "default" rendering

Performance is also bad, especially in presentation mode; especially with skia/raster.

Confirmed in:

Version: 25.2.0.0.alpha0+ (AARCH64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: ab5d79c90fc33b0a32604e3cbbbc686d01d85d39
CPU threads: 10; OS: macOS 13.6.6; UI render: Skia/Metal; VCL: osx
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

The overwriting/ghosting occurs in both the editor and presentation mode. The screenshot provided by the bug reporter accurately reflects the issue.

After modifying the skia settings, the problem is still present.
