There is a slight delay especially when you hit "Settings" and "Check for updates" after LO is started. We're talking about around 2 seconds. But if I touch on other functions they react instantly. It is only visible when you see the pending on the mouse cursor. It only happens once when it is opened for the first time, but when closing the program and re-open it it'll occur again for everytime. Version: 24.2.2.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: d56cc158d8a96260b836f100ef4b4ef25d6f1a01 CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19045; UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win Locale: nb-NO (nb_NO); UI: nb-NO Calc: CL threaded RenderMethod: vulkan Vendor: 0x10de Device: 0x1f0a API: 1.3.277 Driver: 552.48.0 DeviceType: discrete DeviceName: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Denylisted: no
I don't experience this delay in Version: 24.8.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: a2265e8faa099d9652efd12392c2877c2df1d1eb CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19045; UI render: default; VCL: win Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US Calc: threaded or Version: 24.2.1.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: db4def46b0453cc22e2d0305797cf981b68ef5ac CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19045; UI render: default; VCL: win Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US Calc: threaded So it's possible that it's new to 24.2.2.2.
The Options dialog delay is already tracked in bug 159375. Regarding "Check for update" dialog, I can't reproduce in 24.2.2 on Linux either. Can you please: - open a separate report (we try to stick to one issue per report) - clarify how you access it: through the Help menu, or Options dialog > LibreOffice > Online Update > Check Now? *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 159375 ***
Can forget "Check for updates" as it works mostly properly. Happens rarely. The "Settings" dialog is the one that matters.
