Description Olivier Hallot 2024-05-10 13:36:07 UTC
Seen in telegram groups for pt-BR.

Have a set of predefined (regex) find & replace available in the F&R dialog.

For example
- Remove white space at end of line
- Remove end of line (join lines)
- other common situations for people that need to reformat content.

+1

But, little room on the Full F&R dialog so would need to provide a pop-out selector button like checkbox dialog for 'Attributes', but applicable only to the 'regex Replacements'.

Perhaps extension material?

There is an regex F&R extension at

https://extensions.libreoffice.org/en/extensions/show/70066

However, this extension is far to complicated for "Joe User" ( =average user) and requires knowledge in regex which is the issue we want to hide here.

Seems dupe to me, if not please explain.

We discussed the topic in the design meeting. Those examples as provided by MSO are nice for recurring tasks and basic users. RegEx is however a power function for expert users, suited for complex tasks. Therefore we suggest to add a couple of examples (eg. find double paragraph breaks) in the documentation but not to the UI.

Keeping this a duplicate though.
