You'll find some info here:

Also https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Emoji which references http://www.unicode.org/charts/ and when clicking on "Greek" link, you'll get:

which indicates LAMDA.

BTW, I've just discovered this today by doing some research (unless I had forgotten this info), I understand it can be confusing.
