Description: In complex .odt documents (with multiple sections linked to multiple odt documents) with references to .ods spreadsheet cells, version 24.2. it freezes, however in 7.6 it worked perfectly... what could have happened? Actual Results: File created with 7.6 can't be opened Expected Results: Run as below versions Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: File created with LO 7 was unusable with LO24, I downgrade and opened again without problems
Please test in safe mode, Menu/Help/Restart in Safe Mode
I've tried in safe mode (at LO 24.2.4) but without success... it freezes until is closed
Are the files in the same location or in a net path?
Yes, all files are in the same path. I'm rebuilding the file and there seems to be some differences in section management and DDE links to .ods. By removing all links (passing the file through MS-Word, which deletes them) it can be opened at LO 24.2. But by hiding sections, the links within them take up several pages. It seems that the new version has changed how it works with sections and links in them and is not capable of managing them as in the previous ones.
Please attach a sample files, reduce the size as much as possible without private information, and paste the information in Menu/Help/About LibreOffice, there is a copy icon.
Created attachment 194584 [details] File with sections, one of them with a table.
Working on the problem, I have observed that when a section that contains tables is hidden, as many pages are inserted in the document as there are rows in the hidden table.... It is possible that this causes that when opening a document with many hidden sections, some of them with tables, LO may not be able to open it correctly (possibly trying to insert all the "newly created" pages). Ideally, if a section is hidden, it will not be displayed in any case and, if possible, the numbering of the titles found within the hidden section will not be counted either. Until now, I have solved it by moving those titles to the end of the title on which they depend, so, since they are not reflected in the index, it does not affect the numbering of the rest of the titles in the document. But with LO 23, pages would be inserted at the end, as many as there are rows in the hidden tables. Obviously, inserting as many pages as rows is an error in the interpretation of the XML that defines the .odt file.
