Description wrigh 2024-06-04 08:56:00 UTC
When I use F1 or a Help button, I get blue writing on a green window.
At the bottom is a narrow white area with some info but unhelpful.

I do see a tiny search window with a word or two of a sentence, a title LibreOffice 24.2 Help and "Module" logo that gives first a list of the major apps then.a white screen and error message.

What I want to see is a proper index, plus a search function.
This is totally unreadable. How do I permanently make the background white for all of LO help?
This will affect many users with minor colour impairment.

Browser is Firefox

Do you have some assistive technology in use, alternate HC desktop theme?

Otherwise, can not reproduce issues with theming of the web delivered LibreOffice help pages. That also include folded index/TOC on the left side of the content.

rcvd PM from OP:

No special settings, just normal Windows 7. I assume you have seen my snips of the help window as sent to miguelangelrv@libreoffice.org <miguelangelrv@libreoffice.org>.

I don't understand what HC is as in HC desktop
Thanks for your efforts to solve this.

@wrigh, no please post the clips here along with details from LibreOffice Help --> About.

HC is note for HighContrast. On Microsoft Windows builds XP -> Win10 they are system settings labeled as "High contrast". They control the foreground and background colors applications and the desktop present to the user. Web browsers also respond to them in some fashion.

Which at Windows 11 Microsoft changed labelling to be more correct "Contrast themes" and redesigned the HC themes with new color sets and names.

@wrigh, since your issue is with the Firefox browser on Win 7 sp1 first see if an update there will resolve. The LibreOffice off-line help content (installed locally or web hosted) is dependent on web browser's handling.

Update Firefox from its Help --> About dialog, and restart the browser to fully update. Then check how the LibreOffice help pages are rendered.

If resolved, good. Otherwise post the version info that Firefox reports in its Help --> About and still does not render correctly.
