What's your Mac model and which processor do you use? (x86-64 or ARM) Could you give a try to a recent LO version 7.6.7 or brand new 24.2.4 ? Also, did you download LO from official website (https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download-libreoffice/)? Finally, check you got Java installed since Base requires Java.

Unfortunately, you can't install such an extension and maintain compatibility with the default hsqldb.jar, at the same time, it is either one system, or the other, currently on macOS. The most likely reason, however, would be that you don't have a suitably recognised Java JDK environment. > > Additional Info: > Version: 7.5.0.3 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community > Build ID: c21113d003cd3efa8c53188764377a8272d9d6de > CPU threads: 4; OS: Mac OS X 14.5; UI render: default; VCL: osx > Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US > Calc: threaded This is an old version of LibreOffice, why are you using such an old version ?
@MarjaE : your report doesn't say whether you have an Intel Mac or an Apple Silicon processor (M1/M2/M3/M4). From the version of LibreOffice you have currently installed, it would appear that you have an Intel Mac - could you please confirm ?
Yes, it is an Intel mac. Installing 7.6.7 and enabling Java solved it.
Great news! :-) Let's put this one to WFM then.
