Description Vincent 2024-06-25 04:27:40 UTC
FILEOPEN: template for Avery 5567 Hanging File Folder Labels fails to load properly ... basically useless. Opens fine in Word. Listed as a doc file, but may be a docx. I have no way to confirm. I am not in need of a solution as I have decided not to use the template, but maybe it will affect others.
Comment 1 Stéphane Guillou (stragu) 2024-07-10 12:15:16 UTC
Where does the template come from? Is it a download from Avery or do you use File > New > Labels in LibreOffice?
And what exactly do you mean by "Fails to load properly"?

Please also paste here the full version information copied with the button in Help > About LibreOffice.

Thank you!

I can confirm the bug in 25.2. In 7.3.7 it was not perfect, but much more better.

This seems to have begun at the below commit in bibisect repository/OS linux-64-24.2.
Adding Cc: to Miklos Vajna ; Could you possibly take a look at this one?
Thanks

...which made it to 7.6 as b3f13fbe2958100e7034de8ba6a8207eaa48e8db.

There's another regression somewhere before LO 7.3 because OOo 3.3 laid out the tables and frames as expected. We can look into it as a follow-up if needed.
Comment 9 Miklos Vajna 2024-07-17 15:07:02 UTC
Could you please be a little bit more specific here, what is considered to be a regression?

What I see is that this document is of 6 pages in Word, now it's also 6 pages in Writer. As you say, it's far from prefect, but at least the page count matches.

It used to be of 1 pages in Writer, which was worse, I would say.

Maybe this should be just a normal bug, since it obviously can be improved further. Thanks.
