Description John 2024-06-27 15:26:19 UTC
Description:
When I print Impress presentation slides to file I find that audio and video media are included, as in Export to PDF. I would like to exclude the media files from the Print to File to reduce the size of the output so that I can e-mail it.

Actual Results:
Media files are always included in the output file when "Print to File" option is chosen.

Expected Results:
I would have expected the PDF to exactly reflect the paper print. I would expect the media files to be in the "Export to PDF" option.

Reproducible: Always

The Print dialog for Writer has the option "images and other graphic objects" that can be toggled off.
I agree that it should be possible to do the same for Impress and Draw.
UX/Design team, what do you think?

Yes, to video and audio. But I wonder if this includes animated gif. My take: no.

With the option disabled, I'd still keep the placeholder image (therefore the comparison with "images and other graphic objects" is not ideal).

The PDF export dialog has become a bit bulky. I suggest to move the watermark option into the security tab, move the General frame at the left-bottom area and have then enough space for further options at the Structure frame.
