Description: I found some reference to this issue/idea in the forum but not in Bugzilla. https://ask.libreoffice.org/t/multiple-paragraph-styles-per-chapter-numbering-level/56979/4 Right now only one paragraph style per level can be defined to have the automatic chapter numbering. Sometimes there might be cases where different header styles with the same chapter level would be useful. For example my university requires no space when a level 2 header follows right below a level 1 header. But if you have text in between there is supposed to be a defined amount of space. The university also offers a document template but for MS Office which unfortunately breaks when trying to use in LibreOffice. Having the ability to inherit chapter numbering from the parent style (you create a style depending on 'header 2' for example) would be a big time safer by not having to manually adjust header paragraphs depending on their context. It would also improve compatibility towards MS Office and make migration easier. Steps to Reproduce: 1. create a paragraph style dependent on a header paragraph style that is part of the automatic chapter numbering Actual Results: chapter numbering is shown under Lists & numbering tab but is not getting applied to paragraphs in the document Expected Results: child styles inherit chapter numbering from parent style Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: -
Please attach a sample file, reduce the size as much as possible without private information, and paste the information in Menu/Help/About LibreOffice, there is a copy icon.
Created attachment 195102 [details] demonstration of not inheriting chapter numbering In this file I created two level styles based on level 1 and 2 headlines. The parent styles have the automatic chapter numbering but the child styles don't
