Created attachment 195167 [details] Result of the paste in PP and Impress When an object such as a drawing shape is copy-pasted multiple times in Impress, the new object is inserted into the same XY position, making it difficult to tell if the paste happened and how many times. PP on the other hand inserts pasted shapes with a slight XY shift, making it obvious that there is a new shape. Adding a config option to mimic this behavior would be useful in migration environments. 1. In Impress draw a shape 2. Copy and paste it twice -> you have 3 shapes exactly on top of each other, and only the Navigator tells there are 3 shapes. 3. Do the same in PowerPoint -> the second shape is slightly shifted to the right and down as well (both by 0.42 cm in my quick test).
+1 from my side... but I imagine this wouldn't please everyone. When the offset is applied, it makes it clearer to the user that the paste operation was concluded. Let's hear the UX team on this one.
Duplicate of bug 97993 - EDITING: images and shapes that are successively Copy/Pasted or Pasted should to be shifted?
(In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #2) > Duplicate of bug 97993 - EDITING: images and shapes that are successively > Copy/Pasted or Pasted should to be shifted? Bug 97993 seems to be more about Writer... offsetting a copy/paste object would be very different in Writer, when compared to Impress. This could also be a duplicate of bug 100028.
Will comment on the duplicate bug 97993 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 97993 ***
