Description: In the documents I've tested (the links are all be stored as relative), Edit - External Links - Ctrl-A (selects all links) - Break Link only breaks a few top links of the ones requested This matter is proven by breaking the links as indicated above, saving the document to somewhere else, and renaming the folder with the prior-linked images in, and then opening that saved version, the result is only the first few pictures show and the remainder are broken links, whilst the file itself is small in size, whereas the result should be all images show and a large file size. I provide a link to the design folder which can be unpacked - https://www.paintdrawer.co.uk/temp/stachys-betonica-woundworts-betonies.7z The file to test in this way is stachys-betonica-woundworts-betonies.odt Impact high: When working with large files due to many images, it's normal to worked with linked resources, and then when distributing, to break the links for the distributed version. This entirely blocks this process. Have you taking care of the option: https://help.libreoffice.org/latest/en-US/text/shared/optionen/01010200.html?DbPAR=SHARED#:~:text=%20save%20urls%20relative%20to%20file%20system
Which is the Save option you are thinking should help as a workaround for bug? Many thanks, David

thanks @raal, can you confirm you used the document I had attached, as they widely fail for me.
(In reply to DM from comment #4) > thanks @raal, can you confirm you used the document I had attached, as they > widely fail for me. Yes, I used your document. After break all of the links, saved as new document, reopened, all pictures are present. Document is now 23 MB.
Thanks so much - I'll assume it will be cured with ver. 25. I'll install 24.8.0 pre-release to see if that helps, I actually meant to do so last time, but have 24.2 on. So I'll consider the bug on hold and will confirm it's okay in due course! d
I installed the latest pre-release, 24.8.0.3, it delinks a few more that 24.2 but still most the images are not delinked. I'll wait for ver 25 to come out and then report back! Thanks, I'll install it on the RamDisk, I'll assume that won't impact the existing 24.8 installation. d
I've just tried it on a document and it doesn't work for me... The file when opened shows all the pictures, which as a lossless PDF comes to about 56 MB. After breaking all the links and saving and then naming out the folder of images, resulting file is 1.7 Mb, with just the images on the first page embedded, all the remaining blank, showing as broken links. Repro. 1. Unpack https://www.paintdrawer.co.uk/temp/stachys-betonica-woundworts-betonies.7z 2. Open stachys-betonica-woundworts-betonies.odt, Edit - External Links 3. Select all links, Break Link 4. Save into a different directory, close 5. Temporarily rename stachys-betonica-woundworts-betonies directory 6. Open your file from step 4, check Edit - External Links I did some digging in bibisect repos and then searched in Bugzilla to save time (lucky!). This is the same topic as bug 119661.
