Description: Hi, as the subject https://ask.libreoffice.org/t/link-to-external-data-is-lost-after-file-close/55872 2, i notice that the external links (to another sheet, local or online) are lost after saving and reopening. this behavior only occurs on xlsx files. saving links works on ods. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Create a new Calc document 2.Insert external data from URL (local or http) 3.Save file in XLSX Actual Results: External links are lost after reopening the file, section is empty Expected Results: External links should be conserverd Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Version: 24.8.0.3 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 480(Build:3) CPU threads: 12; OS: Linux 6.10; UI render: default; VCL: kf6 (cairo+wayland) Locale: fr-FR (C.UTF-8); UI: en-US 24.8.0-3 Calc: threaded

i confirm that links are preserved in ods but not in xlsx after reopening

Seems export to XLSX was never implemented. Maybe it is not compatible with XLSX. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=114995

You can connect with formulas to a CSV as if it was an spreadsheet. Open your file, open the CSV, copy the first cell in the CSV, past in the file, as link using Paste Special [Ctrl+Shift+V], copy the link into the cells that you need.
