Description: Bug has occurred since upgrade of Ubuntu to 24.04.1 LTS. LibreOffice paper set to DL enveloped. Landscape setting. When printing an envelope, the preview displays the address properly located on a landscape. The envelope is loaded into the paper tray as if portrait, ie, longitudinally, the narrow edge is first. When the print is made, the address is across the envelope from bottom to top instead of from left to right as displayed in the print preview. The envelope will not feed in the printer if placed in landscape in the document feeder. I stress, this used to work with the earlier version of LibreOffice. Actual Results: Set paper format in LibreOffice to DL envelope, landscape format. Type address. Select print and printer. Note that address is displayed properly, DL envelope loaded per printer manufacturer's recommendation. Ensure paper tray selected is correct for DL envelopes which have been loaded in this paper tray. Expected Results: Address prints across the envelope from bottom to top rather than from left to right. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: The software should rotate the print so that it takes into account the fact the envelope is fed from the paper feeder longitudinally, ie, short side first.
Thank you for looking into this.
Looking at similar issues, I found bug 163320, which is also said to be a regression in an Ubuntu-base system. I'm not sure, if this would be related, but there is a somewhat recent fix for bug 161152. The fix is not yet in a released version. When 24.8.4 is released, you could download it as an appimage and test: https://www.libreoffice.org/download/appimage/ https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan/24.8#24.8.4_release Otherwise you could download Linux-rpm_deb-x86_64@tb99-TDF-dbg from https://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/current.html and it should be fairly easy to extract and run.
