Description: Sometimes i need to work in two tabs of Calc. And what is problem, when i choose multiple cells i can't see nor cell summary, neither average. It can only be seen in full window calc right bottom corner. Idea is to show small informative window after cell highlighting. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Highlight multiple cells 2. Point cursor on them Actual Results: Nothing happens Expected Results: Minor cell information Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Version: 24.8.3.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 48a6bac9e7e268aeb4c3483fcf825c94556d9f92 CPU threads: 12; OS: Windows 11 X86_64 (10.0 build 22631); UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: uk-UA (uk_UA); UI: uk-UA Calc: threaded
Seems interesting. Let's hear the UX team.
Obviously the multi-selection is lost when switching tabs. Was there a good reason to do so, Eike?
If a selection remained active on an inactive (not selected) sheet tab it would have to be ignored in all operations if the sheet isn't selected. Note also that an existing selection stays active on multi-selection of sheet tabs, and is extended over the then two (or more) sheets, also displaying the corresponding status bar function results. Independent selections on the then selected but so far inactive sheets would have to be cleared for that to keep the functionality. What should the status bar function even display, per active sheet evaluation of selected cells, or for all selected cells on all sheets, or for selected cells on selected sheets? Altogether, not undoable but the change probably would be quite intruding to adapt current handling of selections.

I work with long tables and often two tables at once. And to check right input i shoul look in bottom corner or create Count formula. It is not a problem except if i work parallel in two tables vertically divided. When not all bottom attributes can be seen
We seem to be talking about something completely different. With *tables* or *tabs* you mean two spreadsheet documents, and viewing them in separate windows side by side and the portion of the status bar that display the functions' results is not visible?
I mean that when two spreadsheets are on screen not all attributes are visible due to the fact that tabs are too small.

Created attachment 197804 [details] Attributes I opened two tabs. New file has needed Sum and Average but older have only unneeded
Believe OP and attachment 197804 [details] refer to the Formula field [1] of the Status Bar tb in Calc. And this is likely a dupe of bug 113828 to allow user customization of the Status bar for those fields they find most useful at reduced app frame widths. =-ref-= [1] https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/sc/source/ui/view/tabvwsha.cxx?r=5166efaa#85

Try with side x side on display with reduced app frame widths.
Yes, this info is one being hidden when the size is not sufficient for all information. Meaning truly a duplicate of bug 113828?
