Description Kurt 2025-07-31 11:59:10 UTC
Description:
Background color fill does not appear in Calc cells, despite correct formatting commands. This occurs in multiple builds including APT, Flatpak, and AppImage versions under Ubuntu 25.04.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch LibreOffice Calc (any version between 24.2.x and 25.2.5)
2. Select a group of cells
3. Go to Format → Cells → Background
4. Choose a color and click OK

Expected Result:
Selected cells show the chosen background color

Actual Result:
No visible background fill appears. Cell text remains unchanged, and borders/font changes do apply correctly.

Tested Versions (all fail):
- LibreOffice 25.2.5 Full AppImage (LibreOffice-fresh.full-x86_64.AppImage)
- LibreOffice 25.2.5 Flatpak (Flathub)
- LibreOffice 25.2.4 from Ubuntu APT (Ubuntu 25.04 default)

Rendering backends attempted:
- SAL_USE_VCL=gen
- GTK3 with and without hardware acceleration
- Different GTK themes (Adwaita, Yaru, etc.)
- Skia toggle not available (Ubuntu build)
- Wayland and X11 both tested

User Profile Reset: ✅
Renamed ~/.config/libreoffice to reset configuration – no effect

System Info:
- OS: Ubuntu 25.04 (GNOME + Wayland/X11 tested)
- Machine: Lenovo ThinkStation P3 Tiny
- Desktop: GNOME 46
- Display Server: Wayland (also tested X11 fallback)
- LibreOffice AppImage: 25.2.5 Full, ~454 MB
- Flatpak: org.libreoffice.LibreOffice v25.2.5
- APT version: libreoffice-calc 25.2.4-0ubuntu0.25.04.1 (now removed)

Additional Notes:
- Font formatting, borders, and data entry all work fine
- This appears to be a rendering issue at the GUI layer
- Cell fill may still be saved in file but not visually rendered
