Created attachment 202765 [details] Suggested place for the "Allow row to break across pages and columns" property" LibreOfficeDev has default settings in the following path: Tools > Options > LibreOfficeDev Writer > Table. (note that this option is not there in the stable version of LO) It has new table defaults. It would be great to have "Allow row to break across pages and columns" option here. Then the user can set his default option, so that he does not have to change it every time. My tables often spill over page boundary, and I have to turn off this option for practically every file. I had made this suggestion last year (#163059), but the response was that LO does not have table styles at all. They are paragraph styles. But now the UI itself has "default table settings" options, so we need not split hair about whether this property comes from paragraph style or table style! :)
Not sure, why this suggestion isn't covered by the "do not split" option. Would treat it as enhancement request
I suppose that the enhancement suggestion is for newly created tables. I suppose that because, for existing table, it doesn't make sense that I can change a table property with the option, when that option is in the table properties dialog and in the table styles. So, for newly created tables, now, when creating a new table, the style can be selected. So you can change the style you use for creating the table, setting or unsetting the "Allow row to break across pages and columns" control, according to your needs. Actually, I'd think that all the New Table Defauls in Tools > Options > LibreOfficeDev Writer > Table should be removed and placed into the style dialog.
