Just glanced over the summary, is it bug 61242 resolved for 25.2?
(In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #5) > Just glanced over the summary, is it bug 61242 resolved for 25.2? Doesn't seem to be. They are talking about an unrelated thing. Please look at the images I attached
Bit longer reply: it was necessary to introduce color variants for dark document themes. Basically we use different colors for comment authors (you may try with a document that you comment under a different Tools > Options > User Data > First/Last Name). The comment colors are now customizable meanwhile via Tools > Options > Appearance. But you wont get an option to have own "comment typ A" in yellow and "comment type B" in blue. Why not use shapes for your sticky notes idea?

I did not know comments existed As to shapes, they can't be placed outside the page, they are not an alternative Yes, I'd like comments to come in different colours as users please. Plenty of note-taking apps have that. Why not? It's udeful
I disagree with the idea but let's keep it for more input. If this is going to be accepted such a sticky note might either be attached to text (probably anchor to character or paragraph) or to the document position (anchor to the page). And typically such notes provide the opportunity to colorize the background. The implementation could use (special?) shapes.

I think it shouldn't be more complicated than it needs to be lest there will be a bunch of new problems that will snowball and take ages to fix. Like how will it behave in multiple-page view and book view? What if there are comments on the pages? It will be a lot messy. Imagining things is easy, doing them is harder I thought of floating notes at the beginning, then I discovered comments and abandoned that idea Just change the colour of a comment and it works well enough
(In reply to Danat from comment #10) > Just change the colour of a comment and it works well enough As I tried to explain this is a no-go. Comment colors are used for the identification of different reviewers. It must be associated with the user name.

There seems to be an option to change comments colour, but it does not do anything seemingly What's happening over there? What did I misunderstand? Maybe it could be like a hybrid of comments and shapes - it can be placed anywhere, either on page or outside. Though it might be difficult given all the transformations that must be taken into account for that to work
