Description archana.jose 2025-11-11 16:35:56 UTC
Description:
We use LibreOffice with one of our print service. After the upgrade to version 25.8.1, we are having the below error message in log file even though the document print successfully.

[ERROR] stderr from command: Could not find platform independent libraries <prefix>

We recently upgraded to version 25.8.2, but this doesn't help to remove the error message.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Run the print job which is scheduled on our system.
2.Check log

Actual Results:
Error produces every time LibreOffice is being called.

Hi,
The installer we used is LibreOffice_25.8.2_Win_x86-64
and the platform is Windows (64-bit)

nothing generic.
you may try to narrow down your "print job" (is it using python?) to identify the context of the problem.
try on different machines,
downgrade to your previous working version,
etc etc

Hi,

We have not installed Python as a component. But I can see that Python and libraries are there in the folder C:\Program Files\LibreOffice\program which is installed automatically during the install of LibreOffice.

I can see few folders named asbelow in the location C:\Program Files\LibreOffice\program:
Python-core-3.10.16
Python-core-3.10.17
Python-core-3.10.18
Python-core-3.11.13

We use LibreOffice on one of our servers to run our scheduled print job from another application. Hence I am not sure whether trying on another machine will help here or not.

Also we can't downgrade to previous version. We are already in version 25.8.2 and the issue occurs from version 25.8.1.

Has any other users raised this issue? Just to understand whether it is an identified bug.

wouldn't hurt to try on a fresh install.
and again, what is this "scheduled print job" ?

AFAICT, the only "related" issue I could find (and linked in my first answer) was about linux.

so far just unconfirmed/needinfo.
