Description Brian 2025-11-29 16:39:07 UTC
Description:
In LO Writer and Calc, the FORMAT > CHARACTER (ALT-C) can be used to enhance the presentation of selected text. The prompt Window provides the OK button to confirm formatting choices. When pressing OK, the prompt Window is closed. It would be very useful to have the prompt Window remain active so that other characters can be selected and formatted.

Example: I wish to Strikethrough(Bold) a series of separate text items. At the moment I must select and press ALT-C for each item.

Would it be possible to add an APPLY button to the prompt Window such that formatting is actioned but the Window remains active for further changes. This would also be consistent with other prompt Windows in LO.

(I have tried using the Properties Sidebar but many formatting options - e.g. Strikethrough(Bold) are not available.)

Thank you for your consideration.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select text
2. Press ALT-C (prompt Window appear)
3. OK to confirm and close Window
4. Please add APPLY to confirm and keep Window open

Actual Results:
ALT-C only provides OK to confirm - which closes formatting Window. Wish to keep Window open.

Expected Results:
Add APPLY option to keep formatting Window open

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Addition of APPLY button would also be consistent with other areas of LO, e.g. Formatting Footer and Header in LO Writer

Subsequent to my submission I would like to suggest the same functionality be extended to LO Impress and Draw - as well as Writer and Calc.
