Description jose.velez 2026-01-01 12:29:37 UTC
Description:
When you right-click on a set of selected shapes and choose Export, a first modal window opens. In this window, you can select Export to PDF and enable the Selection checkbox. After that, a second dialog box appears. If you click Export, the resulting PDF does not contain only the selected objects. Moreover, the exported PDF has the size of a full page, regardless of the selected area.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Draw three shapes.
2.Select two of the shapes.
3.Right-click on the selected shapes and click in export in the context menu.
4.Select PDF, check the "Selection" checkbox and click on "Save"
5.Click "Export" in the second dialog that appears.

Actual Results:
A PDF is generated containing the entire page and all the three shapes.

Expected Results:
A PDF containing only the selected objects, with the page size cropped to the selected area.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
If the Selection option is checked again in the second dialog box, only the selected shapes are exported. However, the resulting PDF size is still not cropped to the objects. This behavior differs from exporting to JPG, PNG, and other image formats. As a workaround, an external application such as pdfcrop can be used to obtain the desired result.
