Description Ash 2026-01-05 01:33:13 UTC
Description:
LO includes a search feature within the tools>options dialog to search for available options, however some of the options do not appear when searching. Specifically "icons" produces no results.
There were a couple of other options that didn't appear when I tested this also but I can't recall what they were. I'm hoping there is an options vs search list that can easily be crosschecked rather than trying to test every available option.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch LO
2. Open Tools>Options
3. In the search field enter "icons"

Actual Results:
No results are displayed

Expected Results:
The options pertaining to icons in LO should be displayed.

Reproducible: Always

Seems there are other words with the same issue.

Maybe as result of the changes in the menus in options.

I confirm too:

And yes, Comment 2 is correct too.

There are other terms that don't appear, like typing in:

- Custom
   - Should find bold "Customizations" label in "LibreOffice > Appearance"
- white
   - Should find "Use white document background" checkbox in "LibreOffice > Appearance"

But other, similar labels work... like:

- Warn
   - Finds "Warnings" in "LibreOffice > Print"

So I'm thinking it's some sort of missing (Accessibility? Tooltips? Alt tags?) on how those settings are labeled.

Side Note: Hmmm, I tried other random search terms, and other menus seemed fine.

The only ones I was really having trouble with were all in "LibreOffice > Appearance".

So perhaps it's an issue to missing text inside that submenu only.

Bayram, do you consider frame labels for the search? I'm pretty sure "icons" was a result before we moved it into an extra frame.

We can add frame labels to the search base. I'll check this over the weekend.
