Description tonym 2026-01-27 11:45:11 UTC
**OS:** macOS Sonoma
**LibreOffice Version:** 25.8.4

I am experiencing a UI/rendering issue with font selection on macOS. The specific "Typeface" (font style like Light, Semibold, ExtraBold, etc.) is not visible or selectable via the standard Font dropdown menu in the main Toolbar or the Sidebar. The dropdown only lists the Font Family.

The typeface *is* visible and selectable if I right-click the text > select "Character..." > "Font" tab. Here, the "Style" box shows all available typefaces correctly.

This bug prevents the correct application of fonts on `.odt` documents edited across different platforms. Documents created on Windows or Ubuntu (where specific typefaces were applied) are not rendering correctly or lose the specific font weight/style when opened on macOS, because the UI fails to map the Typeface correctly unless manually forced via the Context Menu.

Has anyone else experienced this with version 25.8.4 on macOS?

Thank you.
