Description:
go to tool, option, calc, view, visual aid, grid lines, choose hide. hit apply. hit ok. next time open any calc, always shows grid. as is it is only for a temporary effect while in use only.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.open any calc document. open go to tool, option, calc, view, visual aid, grid lines, choose hide. hit apply. hit ok
2. save the document. close the program.
3.re-open the calc document. tadaaa! it is there. again & again. days & days.

Actual Results:
calc always shows grid lines

Expected Results:
no grid line shows

Additional Info:
also background image in writer not permanently there. after save & close. re-open the document, its blank again like new.

I do not reproduce with new files. "any calc document" would indicate new, saved as ODS and saved as XLSX.
Are you saving to XLSX? It would be a duplicat of bug 149267. Also see bug 99868.
