Description Eric 2026-03-09 23:15:16 UTC
When either the left or Top Ruler Units of Measurement is changed to something other then inches the 'Edit Snap Line' pop up box always shows it in Inches.
Comment 1 Eric 2026-03-09 23:21:53 UTC
One would expect that when editing the Snap Line value that it would show the Unit based on the current ruler's selected unit.

Reproduce:
1) Open Draw document and turn on Ruler view
2) Drag a Snap line from the top ruler.
3) Change the top rule scale to mm or anything other than inches. (Right click)
4) Right Click on snap line created earlier and select 'Edit Snap Line'
5) Note that the current value is in Inches (")
6) Note that it's the same for the Left side ruler / Snap lines.

The right place to change units is Tools > Options > (Draw) > General. See also https://help.libreoffice.org/26.2/en-US/text/shared/optionen/01070500.html

You can change the ruler individually in order to have, for example, a paper size in cm but a more precise positioning of objects at mm (or in vs. pt). The ruler is not meant as mean for configuration.

Then what is the point in allowing users to change the Ruler's units if you are just going to reference the Pages Units for where the Snap lines are placed?

I thought I made it clear with my comment 3. If you turn this into an enhancement request to change units overall via the ruler I tend to disagree.
