Description marco 2026-03-22 16:40:03 UTC
Description:
Just updated to 26.2 (was on 25.8) and the light teal theme font selection and size boxes are now illegible (black text on dark gray background).
I have a screenshot, but it looks like it's not possible to append here.

Anyways, pretty easy to repro.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open calc
2. Open your eyes
3. Look at the text selection box

Actual Results:
The text is not legible

Expected Results:
I would like to be able to read the font/size

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
It just so happens that "The information from Help - About" cannot be copied/pasted.
The gist of it is that I'm on MacOS 26.3.1 and Office is v 26.2.1.2

How about adding a `Copy` button there? (or at least make it selectable)

Can not confirm on Windows builds.

os/DE set to "Light" color scheme (the LibreOffice appearance themes named with "light" are intended for os/DE in a light color scheme not dark color).

LibreOffice Tools -> Options -> Appearance panel used to install the "Light Teal" link from the Extensions web site. The 'Enable application theming' check box selected. Restart LibreOffice

Calc launch shows no issue in fg/bg colors for the font selection listbox nor for any other UI element.

Changing os/DE to a Dark color scheme is well tolerated, but better to change and use a dark appearance theme.

Since OP suggests this was following an update from 25.8 to 26.2; perhaps simply needs LO profile factory reset? Does start up in LO safe mode allow you to install and select the "Light Teal" appearance theme?

Just to confirm this is on MacOS Tahoe 26.3.1 (a) (25D771280a), on a Dark Theme - but this used to work just fine (same Mac, same Dark theme).

Something must have changed in the theme itself, where now the background of the font dropdowns(type and size) selection is Dark Gray, while it used to be white.

Also, IMHO, the theme should work regardless of the OS appearance (sure, if it reflects the OS theme, that's awesome, but I'd consider that a bonus).

mah, I tried the Safe Mode stuff, not the most intuitive of processes - also, didn't want to risk ruining my personalized settings.

In safe mode, Teal as a theme is not available; Light theme works fine (and FWIW also in non-safe mode) as does Dark mode.

I don't know, really - is there a way to contribute to the themes? I'd be very happy to do so: love LO and would love to help, just not sure where to start.

Thanks!

Should this be dupplicate of bug 167159, or just macOS specific?

Yes, I just updated the initial bug with the same issue. This is a duplicate, only for Mac OS specific. The same issue is reported in the original bug as well that applies to both Windows and MacOS.
