Description peter josvai 2026-05-19 03:03:26 UTC
hi,

In the top-menu, "Window", there could be a "Save windows list" menu item.

It could save an .odt file, or rather, an .md file,
with relative links to the open files..
and with a directory called working directory defined at the top...

We could easily re-open the files of our work-session.

Peter

PS: "bug" 161924 is irrelevant.

PS 2:

As to "bug" 161924,
what I wrote wasn't clear enough.

Dieter asked why recent files wasn't enough?

Well, suppose you want to reopen 8 files.

• You don't see which files in the RECENT list are open already.

• After you have opened 3, they will be on top of the list.

And you'll have to remember, which is the first next file to reopen...

• You will also have to remember, which one is the first file in the list that is already irrelevant for you...

• And if you open a file like that, it will also come atop the list.

So, altogether, "Recent files" is a different function.

Describes handling of multi-document "sessions".

Any implementation in UI might be via File MRU list, or the main menu Windows, or both.
