When Color Scheme has White BG

When the windows color scheme has a background color other than white, background colors specified for a cell or group of cells gets muted or completely ignored.

It's almost as if the scheme background color is used to reduce the RGB of the cell background color.

I would expect that setting the cell background color should override any existing background colors in place.
Comment 4 Kohei Yoshida 2010-11-16 12:59:32 UTC
This is a known issue. Someone else reported similar bug against Writer, but it's the same problem.

My tentative idea is to always use white as the document default background, regardless of themes.

This was reported here too.

Modified version to the one most nearby to the report.
A quick search found 2 unfixed bugs with target 3.3.1:
Bug 30800 - UI: grid lines disappeared in Calc for cells with background colour
Bug 31672 - Background Color not overriding.
New target?

Any progress about this?

I just tested LibreOffice 3.4 and it still doesn't work. I'm using dark theme. Does not matter whether I set background color to white or automatic (dark), background colors on cells are not visible. It make me crazy sometime.

Please fix it.
Thanks

Hello,
I'm actually testing current 3.5 branch from Gentoo package. Compiled with KDE support. Dark theme is used. Colors in cels are still not visible.

On pc Debian x86-64 with 4.3.2 LO Debian package, I don't reproduce this.
Idem on Win7 + 4.3.2 LO package.

I put Document background in Tools/Options/Appearance/Custom colors at black and cell background colors could still work.

If I missed something, don't hesitate to reopen this tracker and please give me some extra hints to reproduce it! :-)
