In some cases, it would be better to be able to specify on which side the header and footer are located. Here is a use case:

I'm writing a document in portrait mode. I have to insert a table which fits better in a landscape mode. Using landscape allows to add the table caption over it (as it should). However, I'd like my header and footer to stay on the short sides (portrait = up/down -> landscape = right/left) so my numerotation and foot notes still appears where they should when I'll print the final document.

Doing so will also require to put the header and footer text direction to RTL (vertical).

Occasionally I need this too. I'm able to fix with a frame and rotated text .. possible, but not easy
