Description Paolo Benvenuto 2011-04-04 06:56:56 UTC
I have to import styles from a document to another.

I hit f11, and in the styles window I clic on the top right button, and then the menu item "load styles"

I select the file I want to import the styles from. The styles are imported.

However, a style that had a numeration style lost it: there wasn't any numeration style in the imported style that should have it.

document with a style with bullet list

The attacched document has a "try" style with a bullet list defined.

Open a new document, F11, import styles from file, and select the attacched doc -> you'll have a "try" style without the bullet list defined.

thanks Paolo.
Can confirm the bug.
(Probably an omission during the rework of the numbering, in 2009/2009 ?)

Hi Paolo,
Works fine now for me in 4.1.3.1
I imported styles for both paragraphs and lists - it does not work when I only import styles for paragraphs.

Can you pls check this for you?
I set to Resolved > WorksForMe (since we don't know when/how this got fixed.)

thanks,
Cor
Comment 13 Paolo Benvenuto 2013-10-25 12:55:53 UTC
Ok, @ Cor Nouws, it's like you say: in order to get the try style correctly imported I need to check the numeration box.

However, it shouldn't be so: in my case a new blank document has the Elenco1 numeration style which the try style has too, and the import procedure should recognize that the numeration style is present and assign it to the imported try style.

In the case the numeration style of the imported style isn't present and the numeration styles aren't imported, the import procedure should warn the user.
Comment 14 Cor Nouws 2013-10-25 13:23:31 UTC
OK. I think there is a reasonable work flow, but not perfect indeed.

Some confusion about if this bug is reproducible. Moving to UNCONFIRMED to get QA to look at it again. Thanks for your understanding.

I think I did with comment 4?
(Probably an error that the state remained NEEDINFO ?)

Dear Paolo Benvenuto,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
