Description stevenlawre 2011-05-19 08:40:21 UTC
LibreOffice on my Mac uses fonts which are different to all other applications. This is jarring and has no logical reason.

The logical reason is that the "all" other applications to compare to presumably were written for MacOSX? Or at least have had more MacOSX porting love. I am sure that if you compare to comparable old cross-platform software you will find they too might look different, for instance use different fonts, than "all" other applications. And note that your screenshot doesn't even compare with a 3rd-party application, but with the OS (well, desktop environment) itself.

I am sorry, but I fail to see this would be a *bug*. It's an enhancement request. More MacOSX savvy developers needed. It is also a well known issue that LibreOffice (and OpenOffice.org) uses mostly the older Mac GUI toolkit, Carbon. Or something.

[This is an automated message.]
This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it
started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is
changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back
to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases.
Details on how to test the 3.5.0 beta1 can be found at:

Mac OS X uses different font sizes to indicate hierarchy in its several UI elements. LibreOffice should at least use the standard font size and not that oversized one shown in the screenshot attached to this bug.

Changed summary to make clear that this is (now) an enhancement request.
Comment 6 Adolfo Jayme 2015-02-26 11:13:18 UTC
I believe this has been solved already.
