Footnote before closing Writer

In Writer, insert a footnote and save the file as .docx (either Office Open XML or Word 2007). Close the file and reopen it in Writer. An extra line break will be added.

The attached screenshots show how the footnotes change before and after opening the document.

pls note that there is a TAB added before the text of the footnote too.
This happens every time the file is closed.
So it results in several TABs and line-breaks. This appears to every footnote in the text.
Comment 5 Petr Mladek 2011-10-04 07:11:51 UTC
I am unable to reproduce this with LO-3.4.3 (Build:302).

Do you still see it with the last release?
Comment 6 bugs.55134 2011-12-21 10:35:24 UTC
I just reproduced this in Writer 3.4.4 on OS X 10.7.2

[This is an automated message.]
This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it
started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is
changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back
to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases.
Details on how to test the 3.5.0 beta1 can be found at:
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugHunting_Session_3.5.0.-1

Comment 8 bugs.55134 2011-12-23 15:07:44 UTC
Writer 3.5.0b1 does not add an additional linebreak between footnotes in .docx files, but it still inserts extra tabs at the beginning of every footnote, as seen in the attached screenshot.

Comment 11 A (Andy) 2013-01-20 13:21:28 UTC
reproducible with LO 3.6.4.3. (Win7 Home, 64bit)

A tab is added before the footnote when reopening the file in LO, but no line break.
But if you open the file in Word 2007 no tab is added, but a line break is added before the footnote and in addition a line break after the text with the footnote reference is added. Furthermore, the line above the footnote is in LO thicker than in Word 2007.
Comment 12 Timur 2015-05-04 10:38:44 UTC
As already noted, original problem with an extra paragraph cannot be reproduced for a long time.
I mark as "Resolved-WorksForMe", since a specific commit/fix is not known.
Extra tabs at the beginning of every footnote is another bug, probably Bug 64026.

Please report each issue separately, after a search for already reported bugs.
Also, please track your bugs by means of testing it in new LO versions.
