Description netcore 2011-09-29 02:33:43 UTC

Confirm - LibreOffice 3.4.5 (Build:502), Windows 7

@netcore: please, could you be more specific about "personal information"?
Please, explain step by step what you do to reproduce the problem you encounter.

Best regards. JBF

Fresh install - LO 3.4.5, Windows 7.

1. Go to the Writer: Tools > Options > LibreOffice > User Data
2. Enter name, surname and confirm by clicking OK button.
3. Write some text in new document and click Export to PDF button.
4. Save the PDF file.

Personal information (about author of the document) should be saved in meta data of the file.

5. Open PDF file in PDF browser (I used Foxit Reader).
6. Check the file properties (In Foxit Reader: File > Properties)

The Author field is blank.

This is regression - works fine on OpenOffice.org 3.3

it works for me in LO 3.5.0 rc2 and LO 3.4.5 if I check "Apply user data" in the menu File > Properties... -> General tab.
Tested under Ubuntu 11.10.

Checking / unchecking "Apply user data" (and confirm) does not change described behavior. This option is checked by default and saving user data should work after installation. It doesn't.

But... I discovered one thing: If user click on the "Reset" button (File > Properties) when "Apply user data" is checked - since then everything will work and information about author will saved in PDF files every time.

Clicking on the "Reset" button is necessary to function began to work properly. Without this data will not be saved.

P.

Thanks for bugreport
Please, verify if in last version of LibreOffice still reproducible

Note that Tools > Options > LibreOffice > User Data -- is author name only for newly created document. For existing document author name contains inside of document.

The bug is still present in 3.5.1.2. After fresh install you should click on "Reset" button (File > Properties). Only then - in current and each next document - information about author will be exported. Otherwise it does not work.
