If "slide pane" is undocked docking is IMHO not easy possible. You must for example press the Ctrl key and simultaneous double-click in the gray area next to the word "slides" in "slide pane". If "task pane" is undocked docking is easy: klick on "view" in "task-pane"-window respectively on "dock". Proposal: same programming for "slide pane"

Other panes, such as Navigator, Stylist, Gallery also have no "view". May be is should added to all panes? For UI conformance for example.
I'm marking this as RESOLVED as I've checked on 3.5.3.2 as well as the current build of 3.7 and both allow docking the slide pane with VIEW-> DOCK. If you still have this problem please reopen the bug as UNCONFIRMED and provide a screenshot of what you're seeing. Thanks for reporting :)
Requested was button on titlebar of pane, like on pane "Tasks" is placed button "View". Not in menu. And in 3.6.beta1 still not added. And in 3.5.4 and 3.6.b1 on Fedora 64 bit is no VIEW-> DOCK
Jochen - I see the point of not having "view" now, but I'm not understanding your saying you need to press ctrl and double click gray area. At least in 4.2 and 4.0 - simply dragging the frame to the side makes it dock. Is this "good enough" or are you still wanting the "view -> dock" option? Marking as NEEDINFO - if this is good enough for your purposes of ease of use please mark as NOTABUG, else mark as NEW as it's confirmed. Thanks!

So IMHO I confirm my enhancement.
May be we need something like in Calligra Words. There panes have button "maximize" which works as dock/undock.
The 'Tasks' pane on the left was replaced by the sidebar and it contains the styles, navigator and gallery, so that part of the enhancement isnt applicable anymore. So what is left is to add a setting button next to the close button in the titlebar area of the Slide pane that would open up a drop down menu, similar to the sidebar settings menu button, which has options for dock, undock and close the pane. And hopefully in the future, also means to configure it more.
Both the <Ctrl>+double click, and the "<left mouse>+drag" will undock and dock the frame. Other than the Sidebar's Settings split button, we don't provide this on other frames-right? So, not sure the frame "settings" button with Undock/Dock action buttons is needed along side the X-"Close" button.
I guess the question might be what other "controls" beside Dock/Undock would go onto a Settings button for the Slides (Impress View -> Slide Pane) or Pages (Draw View -> Page Pane) frame? If just a Dock/Undock, the UI already provides controls (admittedly a bit hard to identify).

Yes that is true, which we hope to remedy here. :D Guess it could be added to the floating navigator in Writer, but that doesnt have a titlebar with a close button. As stated in comment 9, we could include closing the pane, and hopefully in the future other customizable options like 'show slide name' (how it used to look in 3.3) or 'thumbnail size' (sub menu with options to change/reset the thumbnail size).
The <Ctrl>+<Shift>+F10 global LibreOffice dock window frame action works well on this and other panels without a specific View -> Dock frame menu. WFM and IMHO => WF
